The Go back to grade school and remember the real Fights of the Century the all include "The Italian Stallion Rocky Balboa."
Tyson v.s. Rocky
Ali v.s. Rocky
The Ultimate Warrior v.s. Rocky
and yes Rambo v.s. Rocky
The one I drooled about in the 4th grade was the undefeated Mexican legend fighting the man who single handedly stopped the cold war.
It has the making of a "Fight of the Century" Mexico v.s. U.S.A.
This is how I imagine the fight would go.
Rocky Balboa Julio Cesar Chavez
5'11 Height 5'7 1/2
198 lbs Weight 205
74" Reach 67"
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Hometown Culiacan, Sinaloa
Strengths
Made of Iron Left Hook
Overhand Right Granite Jaw
Heart Heart
This fight would be a mismatch. Chavez would try to carve a whole on the right side of Balboa's body with liver hooks because Balboa never ever showed any sign of defending. Balboa would weight close to 190 lbs fight night and be more active in the ring similar to when he fought Clubber Lang.
Sadly, Chavez would be no match for the Italian Stallion his hooks would hurt and slow down Balboa, but the much stronger Balboa would keep coming forward and destroy the Mexican legends face. Chavez never fought an opponent with the heart of Balboa or an opponent made of Iron .
Valiant effort by Chavez fighting a heavyweight but I doubt he would make it passed the 5th round.
Fourth grade me would be so pissed.

Making The Cut
Twenty one yeard old Saul Canelo Alvarez fought veteran Sugar Shane Mosley on May 5th. Canelo was dominating the old man for three rounds when a Mosley head butt resulted in a cut above Canelo's eye. Suddenly the victory parade was put on hold. Fight fans wondered how the 21 year old would handle the cut?
The Cut sparked memories of two former champions.
Juan Baby Bull Diaz and Victor Vicious Ortiz both prized fighters with a bright future faced similar cuts for the first time at one point.
Diaz was 25 years old when he met, journeyman, Nate Campbell he was on is way to a victory when he was cut above his left eye.
The kid went ape shit at the sight of blood and was soundly defeated for the first time.
He never over came the cut. He won two fights out of the next five five, and those victories were questionable, before retiring at the age of 27.
Victor Ortiz was 22 years old when he stepped in the ring against Marco Maidana at the Staples Center. The fight was suppose to be a homecoming for the Golden Boy prodigy from Oxnard. Then in the middle of the fight he suffered a cut above his right and an ass beating not seen since Apollo Creed- Ivan Drago. Ortiz quit the fight and in the post interview questioned retirement.
“Im gonna stop while I'm ahead that way I can speak well when I'm older ….I'm young but I don’t think I deserve getting beat up like this I got a lot of thinking to do”
Ortiz followed up nicely though beating up a couple of bums before drawing with Lamont Peterson, beating Andre Berto and getting sucker punched by Mayweather.
Canelo on the other hand handled his obstacle differently. He showed the poise of a veteran sticking to his game plan dominating most of the fight and turning the cut into a non factor. The victory train continues he beat Mosley by decision and suppose to fight James Kirkland in September and Miguel Cotto in December.
People argue that Mexican Americans like Diaz, Ortiz, and DeLa Hoya are not as tough as 100% Mexicans like Canelo, Chavez Sr, Morales, Barrera, and the Marquez brothers. Judging by the previous three exhibits i'm inclined to agree.

And The Winner Is....
This is the Image of Miguel Cotto when he fought Manny Pacquiao November of 2009.
This is the image of when he fought Mayweather last Saturday.
Here are some Compubox stats that compares both fights
Landed/Thrown
PACQUIAO v.s. COTTO
Jabs Power Punches Total
Pacquiao 60/220 276/560 336/780
27% 49% 43%
COTTO v.s. MAYWEATHER
Jabs Power Punches Total
Mayweather 51/305 128/382 179/687
17% 34% 26%
Cotto 30/177 75/329 105/506
17% 23% 21%
Pacquiao landed 157 more punches on Cotto than Mayweather landed on Cotto.
He landed 148 more power punches than Mayweather did.
and even though he threw 85 less jabs than Mayweather he landed 9 more than him.
All these stats were career low for Mayweather.
Is Cotto back? Is he that good? was the 147 catch weight that unfair on Cotto?
Was Mayweather baiting Pacquiao?
Is the looming jail sentence bothering Mayweather we don' know.
People will blame the weight, performance enhanced drugs, or whatever they like
but the numbers don't lie.
Neither do the pictures.
MAYWEATHER FIGHT
PACQUIAO FIGHT
Pacquiao won this weekend. Personally I think Mayweather is baiting him I don't understand how his overall connection percentage was at 26% Saturday Night.
