"As God is my judge, I'd love to get out of this filthy cesspool. Goodnight people. Too sick to tweet or talk."
Lou DiBella , president of DiBella promotions, reacted on twitter after the decision of Brandon Rios versus Richard Abril was announced.
Saturday April 14th Brandon Rios met Richard Abril for the 135lbs chamionship of the world. Rios came to the fight as a heavy favorite a proud poster child of Top Rank young, strong, undefeated and marketable.
There were signs that an upset might occur, but the cocky fighter did not see them coming
>He didn't cut the weight of 135 lbs and was fined $40k
>He was already looking forward to his upcoming fight with Mexican legend Juan Manuel Marquez in July.
>Took the fight with Abril on short notice after Yuriokis Gamboa unexpectedly dissapeared from the face of the planet
>And really had not fought a credible opponent
Rios was taken to school by Abril. His vicous left hook was a non factor because Abril glued his right hand to his temple. It was apparent to everyone but Rios that the hook wasn't landing.
Abril kept Rios at bay with his long arms using the jabs and hooks exploiting Rios lack of mental preparation.
His foot work was horrific and his ring generalship was non existent, and this kid wants to step up with one of the hardest working fighters and brilliant ring tactician in Juan Manuel Marquez?
At most Rios won three rounds out twelve but when the decision was announced the scores were 116-112, 115-113 for Rios and 117-111 for Abril.
Lou Dibella "FUCK THIS CORRUPT, SELF DESTRUCTIVE INDUSTRY. We suck as legit sport, Sorry kid, you should be a champ. YOU PICKED THE WRONG BIZ."
Social networks went on fire with screams of corruption
ESPN analyst Dan Rafael quoted the result "The outpouring of anger toward the decision was overwhelming on social
media, as it should have been, because the decision was a farce. It was
probably the second-worst decision I have seen in 13 years of covering
boxing"
Boxing is dying slowly and giving way to a new era of fighting in Mix Martial Arts. The old guard is trying to cash out without any regard what it's doing to the sport in fact its sacraficing boxing to fatten up its wallet.
Bob Arum is a disease to the sport, he might have done a lot in the previous years. But today he is robbing fighters and fans and destroying the sport.
HBO boxing is putting out garbage fight after garbage fight.
Golden Boy keeps putting their fighters in mismatches in fear of tarnishing one of its fighters record.
Fans will never see Pacquiao-Mayweather,Donaire vs. Broner. Instead fans will be treated to Pacquia vs. Bradley, Marquez vs. Rios,.
While Golden Boy will keep feeding us Broner v. nobodies, Canelo V. Wash up's, really Mosley gets an other title shot? REALLY?? Boring fight of the year and two losses gets you another title shot?
Promoters are taking fans for granted. They know we will come watch their spectacles because we love the sport, and we live off memories hoping to feel like we once felt.
Its no wonder there are so many pound for pound pretenders now a days because they won't find anybody.
The days of Ali-Frazier, Lewis-Holyfield, Mayweather-Chavez, Barrera v.s Morales will not be found on PPV. The boxing fan must find the fight such as last years war between Povlak Rodriguez

These gems will be difficult to find but are worth the search.
I still wonder what crosses Brandon's mind knowing he lost but was handed the victory guilt? remorse? motivation to be better? Does he even know he lost? I hope he does because unlce Bob's wallet can only take him so far he is going to need to learn to adapt in the middle of a fight.
Where are the fighters in this game? The promotions are doing what they do to get their name out there and get paid. If boxing is gonna change it needs fighters who fight because that's all they have like a Chavez, Ali, Ward, Tyson. Because the new generation came up in "money time" boxing as I like to call it. They saw Floyd fight a real same class fighter twice in his career. Once in castillo, Castillo got robbed, and again against Zab Judah until he remembered he was Zab Judah and low blower his way to infamy. Now we have a guy who's daddy combs his hair after he wins.....I mean come on my guy seriously. The hunger that made boxing a must see when Tyson was on air tv or ppv is gone from that group of fighters. I guess the old saying is true. If the heavyweight division is bad then boxing as a whole will be bad. Thanks Emmanuel Steward. :-) great post you are so right on about Rios. Keep up the great words.
