MONEY MAYWEATHER

Saturday May 5th Miguel Angel Cotto and Floyd "Money" Mayweather will meet in Las Vegas.
The Undefeated Mayweather will add another name to his notch, and he will try to do it as quickly as possible.
Cotto is not the same fighter he used to be since he was demolished by Antonio Margarito in 2008.
He got his revenge when he fought Margarito in November of 2010. Fighting a one eyed fighter Cotto never went for the kill he jabbed and ran away from the fight until the doctor stopped the fight because Margarito’s previously injured eye was swollen.  He finally avenged his defeat and is now back to normal.  He no longer sees Margarito's fist destroy his face for three non-stop rounds and he has forgotten that he had to take a knee in order to make them stop.
The only pressure Mayweather will have fight night will be to defeat Cotto in better fashion than Pacquiao did in 2009.
Floyd never usually predicts knockouts but today he told the Las Vegas Sun "This fight won't go the distance. He's coming in for the kill and I'm going in there for the kill. This is boxing, this is the hurt business, it's about excitement and that's what I'm here to do."
This fight it is a brilliant strategic move for Mayweather because Cotto is probably the only fighter, thanks to his loyal following in Puerto Rico, that can get Mayweather the two million pay per view buys he has been striving to get since he fought Oscar De La Hoya.  The two million buys this will give him leverage to ask for more than 50-50 or 60-40 he has rejected to split with Pacquiao.
Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaffer thinks the 2 million mark is possible he told Boxingscene.com
"I'm basing that on early results from closed circuit. I'm basing that on sponsors' feedback. I'm comparing the [statistics from the] movie theaters. There you can track it very nicely. You can look two weeks before, for the [Victor] Ortiz fight or the [Juan Manuel] Marquez fight or the [Shane] Mosley fight ... How many tickets did you sell? And we can compare it to [our figures] now and we've been getting those numbers updated. I don't even want to say how much more [we've done than in previous fights], but if these numbers are going to translate to [pay-per-view buys], and the early indications are that they will because of the kind of feedback that we're getting. If those numbers in fact are true, I think we might break the record. Based on those early indications, it's unreal."
Floyd has no respect for Cotto and it is blatant in HBO's "Max Kellerman's Face Off" where he keeps inturrupting Cotto with talks of his on-going bets and messing with his tablet during the interview.
Floyd saying the right things to hype up the fight without disrespecting Cotto.
For example he told ESPN.com "The fans should watch this [fight] because, in my eyes, Miguel Cotto is an undefeated fighter," Mayweather said, even though Cotto has two official losses. "He fought one guy at a catchweight and another guy who got in trouble for cheating. He's a strong knockout puncher and he always comes out and fights in a pleasing way."
I think Floyd will knock out Cotto in the 7th round.  Cotto will get a couple of good body shots but once Floyd has him timing down he will dance to the right and smash Cotto with the over hand right.  Cotto will tire of getting bullied and abandon his footwork.  Floyd will exploit his recklessness and either start working the body in order to put him out or batter his face for 3 rounds before the towel is thrown in.

ROBBERY

"As God is my judge, I'd love to get out of this filthy cesspool. Goodnight people. Too sick to tweet or talk."
Lou DiBella , president of DiBella promotions,  reacted on twitter after the decision of Brandon Rios versus Richard Abril was announced.
Saturday April 14th  Brandon Rios met Richard Abril for the 135lbs chamionship of the world.  Rios came to the fight as a heavy favorite a proud poster child of Top Rank young, strong, undefeated and marketable.
There were signs  that an upset might occur, but the cocky fighter did not see them coming
>He didn't cut the weight of 135 lbs and was fined $40k
>He was already looking forward to his upcoming fight with Mexican legend Juan Manuel Marquez in July.
>Took the fight with Abril on short notice after Yuriokis Gamboa unexpectedly dissapeared from the face of the planet
>And really  had  not fought a credible opponent
Rios was taken to school by Abril. His vicous left hook was a non factor because Abril glued his right hand to his temple.  It was apparent to everyone but Rios that the hook wasn't landing.

Abril kept Rios at bay with his long arms using the jabs and hooks exploiting Rios lack of mental preparation.

His foot work was horrific and his ring generalship was non existent, and this kid wants to step up with one of the hardest working fighters and brilliant ring tactician in Juan Manuel Marquez?
At most Rios won three rounds out twelve but when the decision was announced the scores were 116-112, 115-113 for Rios and 117-111 for Abril.
Lou Dibella  "FUCK THIS CORRUPT, SELF DESTRUCTIVE INDUSTRY. We suck as legit sport, Sorry kid, you should be a champ. YOU PICKED THE WRONG BIZ."
Social networks went on fire with screams of corruption
ESPN analyst Dan Rafael quoted the result "The outpouring of anger toward the decision was overwhelming on social media, as it should have been, because the decision was a farce. It was probably the second-worst decision I have seen in 13 years of covering boxing"
Boxing is dying slowly and giving way to a new era of fighting in Mix Martial Arts. The old guard is trying to cash out without any regard what it's doing to the sport in fact its sacraficing boxing to fatten up its wallet.
Bob Arum is a disease to the sport, he might have done a lot in the previous years. But today he is robbing fighters and fans and destroying the sport.
HBO boxing is putting out garbage fight after garbage fight.
Golden Boy keeps putting their fighters in mismatches in fear of tarnishing one of its fighters record.
Fans will never see Pacquiao-Mayweather,Donaire vs. Broner.  Instead fans will be treated to Pacquia vs. Bradley, Marquez vs. Rios,.
While Golden Boy will keep feeding us Broner v. nobodies, Canelo V. Wash up's, really Mosley gets an other title shot? REALLY?? Boring fight of the year and two losses gets you another title shot?

Promoters are taking fans for granted. They know we will come watch their spectacles because we love the sport, and we live off memories hoping to feel like we once felt.
Its no wonder there are so many pound for pound pretenders now a days because they won't find anybody.
The days of Ali-Frazier, Lewis-Holyfield, Mayweather-Chavez, Barrera v.s Morales will not be found on PPV.  The boxing fan must find the fight such as last years war between Povlak Rodriguez
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X4Wvt3GyVcA
These gems will be difficult to find but are worth the search.
I  still wonder what crosses Brandon's mind knowing he lost but was handed the victory guilt? remorse? motivation to be better?  Does he even know he lost? I hope he does because unlce Bob's wallet can only take him so far he is going to need to learn to adapt in the middle of a fight.

Sergio Martinez A true Poud for Pound Champion

On St Patricks Day WBC Diamond Champion Sergio Martinez knocked out Matthew Macklin in the 11th round.
The true pound for pound champion of the world keeps winning in a fashionable way.  Like an artist painting a masterpiece Sergio's victories are beautiful works of art.
Knocking down dangerous fighters that other fighters are afraid to test.
Here is a look at his previous five fights from past to present:
-He went to war with the heavier Kelly Pavlik for 12 rounds.
-Destroyed Paul Williams, with a vicious hook, in the 2nd round.
-Knocked out previously undefeated European Champion Sergiy Dzinziruk, a man who had never felt the canvas, in the 8th round.
-Put the dangerous undefeated Darren Barker through a boxing clinic before putting him away in the 11th round.
-Matthew Macklin was his recent victim
On April 10, Martinez promoter, Lou Dibella told The Boxing Lab "Since he started fighting on HBO he hasn't had easy fights for the most part"
Sadly Martinez is mostly known by die hard boxing fans because of the lack of named opponents.
Many fighters  have dodged him   man such as Floyd Mayweather Jr, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, Miguel Cotto, Saul Alvarez, Alfredo "El Perro" Angulo, Antonio Margarito to name a few.
Or pretty much every Top Rank and Golden Boy fighter.
Unlike other "pound for pound champions" Martinez has fought the most dangerous fighters in the world in order to be considered pound for pound champion.
For example, the last time Manny Pacquiao fought a non Top Rank fighter was May 2009 when he fought the reckless Ricky Hatton.
After that Top Rank has been lining up Top Rank fighters that the Filipino fighter has had ease defeating.
-A shot Miguel Cotto.
-Joshua Clottey, who feared throwing a punch in fear of the  oncoming barrage of punches.
- A long armed pushing forward fighter in Antonio Margarito.
-Over the hill "Sugar" Shane Mosley that was more concerned in tapping gloves than exchanging punches.
An,  in my opinion lost the match against a Juan Manuel Marquez, but Pac Man was awarded the controversial decision.
Now, he is to fight an undeserving fighter in Timothy Bradley in June.
Bradley, After an 11- month self hiatus, and running from Amir Khan then signing with Top Rank, He struggled in November to defeat a 40 year old over the hill Joel Casamayor, but that body of work was enough to earn him a shot at Manny Pacquiao.
Sergio keeps on winning, and finally will have a shot at the limelight when he gets the winner of  WBC champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and Andy Lee who are scheduled to fight June 16th.
The son of the Mexican legend has been engaged in a verbal war with Martinez through twitter both claiming to be the true WBC middle weight champions.
The big fight in the works? according to Dibella "I would love to see what he could do event at a weight disavantage versus Floyd....After Cotto that is the only fight that makes sense for him"
If everything goes accordingly Martinez might be stepping into the ring with Floyd Mayweather Jr. sometime next year and that will be his true chance to leave an everlasting foot print in the boxing world and join the pantheon of champions reserved for the likes of  Lewis, Ali, Frazier, Leonard,  and Chavez.
I thank my lucky stars that I am alive to watch this man paint his masterpiece.
